1. Equipment Capabilities

        Automatic seam welders hold the work-piece stationary while a small gantry with a single torch runs along the seam making a single continuous weld. MIG, TIG and sub arc welding methods can be used with this type of machine.

        Although these machines have most often manual loading/unloading functionality, they can be designed with part loading and ejection if needed.

        We can incorporate water cooled and shield gas back up of the weld joint.

 

2. Applications

        At Friendship Machinery, we design our Seam Welders for small to mid-scale straight welding applications. These machines commonly function to weld seams at the outside surface of tanks. These types of tanks can include pressurized and non-pressurized vessels, compressor tanks and hot water tanks. Automated seam welders are commonly used for mid-range production volume applications.

        Friendship Machinery will provide our customers with the proper type of welder to meet their needs. Our extensive experience with MIG, sub arc and TIG welders as well as automated machine design and technology give us the advantage in making automatic welding equipment for any application. Our team of engineers can custom design equipment or we can replicate machinery that already exists. All our equipment is designed around our customers’ facilities layout and resources. We can tie-in our equipment with a current assembly line or machinery or supply an entire assembly line.

        For all of our projects we provide a detailed work order, bill of materials, technical drawings, user manual, work procedure and maintenance manual throughout the design, fabrication and installation processes.
